Electing four candidates to the student council, the Associated Students of Madison announced their fall 2015 freshman election winners Wednesday.
ASM Student Election Commission Chair Min Hwang announced in a statement Deena Whitman, Zaakir Abdul-Wahid, Colton Wickland and Nikhil Trivedi are the council’s newest members.
Hwang said in the statement he was pleased with this year’s student voter turnout.

“Freshman voter turnout is at an all-time high, displaying increased student engagement in campus issues,” Hwang said in the statement.
Elections began Monday, Oct. 12, and ended Wednesday, Oct. 14.
The new members of the council will be sworn in at the ASM’s next meeting Oct. 21.
