A young boy was hit by a car on East Washington Avenue early Thursday evening and suffered multiple non life-threatening injuries.

According to a Madison Police Department incident report:

A 13-year-old boy ran out into rush-hour traffic on East Washington Avenue near Zeier Road and was struck by a car at about 5:27 p.m. Thursday.

The boy suffered a broken leg and other non life-threatening injuries and was taken to a hospital.

The incident remains under investigation.
