String of crimes reported around UW Hospital

Following a series of burglaries and thefts near UW Hospital on Monday, University of Wisconsin Police Department issued a crime warning Tuesday.

According to UWPD, the thefts occurred around UW Hospital and Clinics at 600 Highland Avenue. The suspect reportedly gained access to people’s valuables through unlocked doors of vehicles.

Police are investigating a person of interest reportedly related to the cases. The person is described as a white male, approximately 45-years-old, 5-foot-7 tall, 165 pounds and bald. UWPD said the person was last seen clean shaven, wearing a dark jacket, dark pants and a striped knit cap.
