The Wisconsin men’s basketball team will be honored Friday, May 9 at Miller Park before the Milwaukee Brewers take on the New York Yankees.
Head coach Bo Ryan will lead the team and staff on the field and will throw out the ceremonial first pitch.
“On behalf of the Milwaukee Brewers, we congratulate the Badgers men’s basketball team for a terrific season and an exciting trip to the Final Four,” said Brewers General Manager Doug Melvin in a press release. “Bo Ryan and his team provided great excitement throughout Wisconsin and they represented our state extraordinarily well.”
After reaching the Final Four for the first time since 2000, the Badgers will be recognized before the game. The team will take the field at 6:50 p.m., 20 minutes before the scheduled start time for the game.
The team is excited to take the Field in Milwaukee and coach Ryan says he is going to put in some practice time for his pitch.
“We’d like to thank the Brewers for inviting us out to Miller Park,” Ryan told uwbadgers.com. “It will be an honor to be on the field and participate in the pregame festivities. I’m going to have to warm up the old shortstop arm, those Major League Baseball fields are a bit bigger than ones I grew up on. But it will be a fun night.”
