Update: Recall Primary Results

Based on preliminary results, the Associated Press has declared Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett the winner of the Democratic primary for governor with 55 percent of the vote.

Former Dane County Executive Kathleen Falk recieved 37 percent of the vote, Sen. Kathleen Vinehout, D-Alma, received 4 percent, Secretary of State Doug La Follette, received 3 percent, and Gladys Huber received less than 1 percent

Gov. Scott Walker won the Republican primary for the governor with 97 percent of the vote. Arthur Kohl-Riggs received 3 percent of the vote.

Mahlon Mitchell, president of the Professional Firefighters of Wisconsin, won the Democratic primary for the lieutenant governor with 52 percent of the vote. Based on preliminary results, Isaac Weix recieved 26 percent of the vote and Ira Robins 22 percent.

Lori Compas won the Democratic Senate primary for the district of Senate Republican Leader Scott Fitzgerald, R-Juneau, with 72 percent of the vote. Gary Ellerman received 28 percent of the vote.

Rep. Donna Seidel, D-Wausau, won the Democratic Senate primary for the district of former Sen. Pam Galloway, R-Wausau, with 64 percent of the vote. James Buckley received 36 percent of the vote.

Kristen Dexter won the Democratic Senate primary for the district of Sen. Terry Moulton, R-Chippewa Falls, with 64 percent of the vote. James Engel received 36 percent of the vote.

John Lehman won the Democratic Senate primary for the district of Sen. Van Wanggaard, R-Racine, with 68 percent of the vote. Tamra Varebrook received 32 percent.

The election is June 5.
