President Barack Obama’s Tuesday speech will take place on Library Mall, a Democratic Party spokesperson told exclusively to The Badger Herald.
The rally is the first of several the president will hold throughout the country in the run-up to November’s midterm election. Singer-songwriter Ben Harper will perform at the event.
“We could not be more excited to have President Obama kicking off the Democratic Party’s Fall campaign push on the Library Mall at the University of Wisconsin next week,” said DNC Chair Tim Kaine in a statement. “Kicking off our Fall Moving America Forward events with a college and youth focus in Madison is a great start to the last five weeks of this critical campaign. Young people have been critical to the movement that elected President Obama in 2008 and from health reform to credit card and student loan reform young people benefited from the change President Obama and Democrats have brought to the country.”
