After three-straights years, the Wisconsin football team will be headed to a bowl not named the Rose Bowl this January.
No. 19 Wisconsin accepted an invitation Sunday to play in the Capital One Bowl in Orlando, Fla., against No. 8 South Carolina (10-2, 6-2 Big Ten) from the Southeastern Conference.
Scheduled to be played on Jan. 1, a 2014, the Capital One Bowl appearance will mark the fifth time in the last nine seasons that Wisconsin has been invited to play in the bowl, with Wisconsin winning three of its last four appearances.
The Badgers have never faced the Gamecocks in football, and currently boast a measly 2-6 against SEC teams in bowl games.
