A 20-year-old Madison woman was attacked while walking home late Saturday night on the 200 block of North Pinckney Street.

According to a Madison Police Department statement, the victim was walking in the area around 11:30 p.m. Saturday when a man pushed her down and punched her in the face.

After she fell, the suspect grabbed her purse, but after realizing there was nothing valuable to steal, kicked her and fled the scene, the report said.
