After a battery early Saturday morning, a 23-year-old Madison man was taken to the hospital with non life-threatening head injuries.
The man was in the 300 block of North Bassett Street when he was punched and kicked by two men, while two others watched the incident, according to a police report. The incident occurred around 3:45 a.m.
The victim was knocked unconscious and taken to a local hospital, the report said.

According to the police report, the victim “was familiar with” the attackers but did not know their names.
