Former “Saturday Night Live” comedian and actor Pete Davidson is scheduled to perform at the Orpheum Theater on Friday, Dec. 8, according to the Orpheum’s website.

Tickets will go on public sale Friday, Oct. 20 at 10 a.m. and will be available for purchase on the Orpheum’s website.

This will be Davidson’s first performance in Madison since his show in Memorial Union in 2015. He was planning to make an appearance at Comedy on State in June, but the sold-out show was canceled, according to Comedy on State’s Facebook.

“SNL” cast Davidson when he was only 20 years old, making him one of the youngest actors in the weekly TV series’ history, according to BuzzFeed News. Davidson has had a tumultuous relationship with “SNL” since, having left the cast after seven seasons but returning for some episodes.

Oct. 14, Davidson returned for a skit parodying the “Barbie” movie’s “I’m Just Ken,” singing, “I’m just Pete / Anyone else, I’d be a three / But I guess I’m hot for dudes in comedy / ‘Cause it’s an ugly industry.”

Outside of “SNL” Davidson is known for his starring roles in “The King of Staten Island” a film loosely based on his life and “Set it Up” according to Us Weekly. Davidson is also close friends with John Mulaney, going on a stand-up tour with the fellow comedian in early 2019 and now in 2023.

But some fans are less interested in the comedian’s jokes than his extensive experience dating A-list celebrities. Davidson strongly dislikes when fans pay more attention to his romantic life than his career, he said on Jon Bernthal’s “Real Ones” podcast in March.

“I’m in my 20’s and I’ve dated people,” Davidson said. “And for some reason, that’s very crazy and interesting to people. I don’t think it’s interesting.”

Davidson is also outspoken about other issues he faces under the public eye, largely substance addiction and borderline personality disorder, according to Us Weekly. In September, Davidson announced he had recently completed treatment in a rehabilitation facility for drug addiction, according to the Los Angeles Times.

Now on a live stand-up comedy tour, Davidson’s Madison performance is one of many upcoming shows across the country, according to Live Nation.
