Say goodbye to caution tape and locked doors: At long last, the Memorial Union’s first floor has reopened.
The renovated space features cozy study spaces as well as fresh looks for old favorites including Daily Scoop, Peet’s Coffee & Tea, and a largely expanded Badger Market.
Ice cream lovers will delight in the expanded Daily Scoop’s bright, retro design, as well as the new “Freshman 15” menu item, a 15-scoop sundae meant to be shared with friends in celebration of memories made at the Union.
Peet’s Coffee & Tea has returned with a contemporary look and cozy study spaces, including a bar looking over the future Alumni Park.
Der Rathskeller, new salad and sandwich café Carte and Italian restaurant Strada will begin serving food in January.
Badger Market has also significantly expanded, and will now offer more grab-and-go food options as well as Badger apparel.
Throughout the first floor, visitors will find ample seating and study space, including fancy single-occupant pods, perfect for hunkering down for finals.
If you haven’t yet, get yourself over to the Union and find a cozy new study spot of your own.
