Madison police are currently investigating recent burglaries that occurred at Sports World on State Street and Macy’s at Hilldale Mall Monday.
According to a police report released Wednesday, a group of young teens may be responsible for both retail thefts.
The report said the group, consisting of both males and females, first shoplifted several North Face rain jackets hanging on a rack outside Sports World on State Street. The report said the jackets have a value upwards of $700.

The report said the group went to Macy’s an hour later and stole more than $2,500 in Polo merchandise.
The report said there could be at least a dozen people involved in the thefts.
