Welcome to the Badger Herald live blog. I’m Brett Sommers, Statistics Editor
at the Badger Herald, alongside Sports Content Editor Kelly Erickson. We will be
bringing you all of tonight’s action between Wisconsin and Alaska Anchorage.
Wisconsin (10-10-2, 5-9-2 WCHA) enters play looking to raise its
record to over .500, a task the Badgers have found difficult to
accomplish all season long. Conference foe, Alaska Anchorage (6-12-2,
3-12-1 WCHA) is struggling of late, having dropped three straight and
five of its last six games. The Badgers’ split their last series with
Minnesota State but did earn its first road win of the season as Joel
Rumpel’s notched first career shutout with 36 saves on the night.
Wisconsin is led by sophomore center Mark Zengerle who leads the team
with 33 points. Zengerle’s 20-game scoring streak came to an end last
weekend in game two against Minnesota State. Alaska Anchorage is led by a trio of scorers tied at 11 points for the season.
Stay tuned for all of tonight’s action.
