The second University of Wisconsin System president finalist videoconference of Monday featured Raymond Cross, the current chancellor of UW Extension. Cross is the only in-state candidate in the search to fill the president position.
According to reporting from the Associated Press, Cross said in the conference if given the job, he will try to increase communication between the system administrators and UW campuses and legislators through local listening sessions.
Cross said he also will work to pay closer attention to campus financial reporting, the report said. The accumulation of massive funds and simultaneous tuition increases led to the resignation of the current President Kevin Reilly last month.
The final videoconference of the day will feature Peter Garland and will be held at 3:45 p.m.
