A Madison man was arrested Sunday after he allegedly hit a woman with a chair inside Wendy’s on State Street.
According to a police report, 45-year-old Rodney Jenkins entered the Wendy’s restaurant on State Street around 1 p.m. Sunday and encountered a conversation between two friends who were speaking loudly and using vulgar language.
The suspect approached the victim and asked if the vulgar language was directed at him, the report said.

He then picked up a chair and struck the victim in the head, the report said.
The victim, a 21-year-old Madison woman, required multiple sutures after the incident, the report said.
According to the report, Jenkins was arrested for substantial battery and disorderly conduct.
