BATTERY

West High School

A West High School student was arrested Tuesday afternoon on charges of 1st degree reckless endangerment, physical abuse of a child, use of a dangerous weapon and possession of dangerous weapon by person under 18, an MPD report said.

Seventeen-year-old Daniel D. Vanna punched a 15-year-old student in a hallway over an ongoing dispute involving a girl. MPD spokesman Joel DeSpain said he believes there is not an uptick in high school crimes and the incident was reported because there was a weapon, brass knuckles, involved.

ROBBERY

South Stoughton Road

Madison resident Ricky Harris, 17, was arrested Saturday afternoon on multiple charges of battery, strong-armed robbery and disorderly conduct, an MPD report said.

According to the report, Harris flipped a disabled man out of his wheelchair and proceeded to assault the man at the Farm & Fleet parking lot on South Stoughton Road.

When Harris pulled down the victim’s pants during the attack, the victim’s wife tried to intervene. Harris punched the wife numerous times in the head, the report added. Harris took the wife’s money and the man’s cell phone and fled on foot, but was caught and arrested by officers. According to the MPD report, Harris is related to the victims.

SUSPICIOUS VEHICLE

Maher Avenue

A suspicious car stopped in front of a 53-year-old Madison resident’s home on Maher Avenue around 11:30 p.m. Friday. ”

According to an MPD report, the persons inside the car proceeded to impersonate police officers and told the resident to “drop your suitcase” and “get on your knees.”

After the victim asked to see identification, the persons inside the vehicle told the man there had been a robbery and the man matched the suspect’s description.

Following further demands for some form of identification, the dark-colored 4-door vehicle drove off. According to the MPD report, the resident said he could see three silhouettes inside and heard “I got you” as the vehicle drove away.

ROBBERY

Schroeder Road

A male described as black, 6-foot-4 with a muscular build robbed the Stop-N-Go and Milio’s on Schroeder Road Tuesday night. According to another MPD report, the man was armed with a handgun and held up the two stores around 9:30 p.m. He then took off with the money.

The report said the man was wearing a heavy, long-sleeve black t-shirt, dark blue jeans with a white design on the left rear pocket, black tennis shoes, and a black mask.

WANTED SUSPECT

South-Side

Another report said Madison man Paul Williams is wanted for recent gun crimes and a home invasion.

MPD spokesman Joel DeSpain said they do not have a permanent address for Williams, 24, but received some information about his presence in a south-side residence today.

According to an MPD report, Williams should be considered armed and dangerous, and anyone with any information on him can anonymously contact Madison Area Crime Stoppers at 608-266-6014. Information may be eligible for up to a $1,000 reward.
