Local band Seasaw have never followed anyone’s paths but their own.
Following up their recent LP release Too Much of a Good Thing, today the duo released a music video for the LP’s first track “Ex-Girlfriend.”
The video, filmed with or made to look like it was filmed with a vintage camera, shows the two getting splattered with paint from popping balloons with song lyrics written on them.
The video also flashed of bright, dusty color-scapes and frequent cuts, adding to the video and track’s already pretty psychedelic quality. The bright colors also mesh well with the song’s vibrant synth and guitar parts.
The video concludes with the pair walking off into a moonlit body of water, suggesting a rebirth of sorts from the ex-girlfriend mentioned in the song’s lyrics.
It’s not totally clear what’s meant to be made from this video, but that is typical for the anything-but-typical Seasaw.
Hopefully they’ll build this momentum into releasing some new material in the near future.
