Though Georgia State may be our opponents in football this weekend, their home city of Atlanta is pretty damn good at making rap music.
A-town has been holding it down in rap for a while now. It’s the birthplace of Outkast, the duo of Andre 3000 and Big Boi that ushered in the golden age of Southern rap. It’s currently undergoing yet another era of hip-hop, with the likes of Young Thug, Future and Metro Boomin changing genre conventions as we know it.
Check out the best of what’s old and new in Atlanta hip-hop in this week’s Hitlist, and let us know what we missed in the comments.
