It’s common knowledge that America’s auto industry is in some deep ish. One of President Obama’s benchmarks for bailout cash has stipulated that the auto companies come up with comprehensive plans to increase production of fuel-efficient and eco-friendly automobiles. We want to know how strong of a force the Millenial Generation has been in advancing this type of standard. Are we driving the demand toward American eco-cars? Are our purchasing principles the force behind the green car movement? If so, will we actually be able to afford the cars we want to see made?
With all this talk of the recession, it’s hard to imagine people buying cars, but most experts believe there’s a lot of pent-up demand. In other words, there’s going to be a boom in car sales (carboom!).
And this time around, people are seeking out fuel-efficient vehicles. Every green car purchased, will bring the price down (supply and demand, supply and demand). So, the only question that remains is, will we be buying these cars from Detroit or from somewhere else…? It’s up to us. Actually, it’s up to Detroit.
