Students enjoy the warm weather and anxiously anticipate the end of finals so they can enjoy their summer vacation.

Trying to figure out what to do for a trip can be a real pain. You don’t want to overpack and have to pay to check a bag on your flight, but also, you totally might need a sixth pair of sunglasses.

If you are concerned about what to pack, don’t worry because, as always, The Badger Herald is here to help! We’ve got the two essentials for each type of Spring Break trip. Even if you’re a terrible packer, there is no excuse to stray from looking anything but fly this week.

The first thing to grab when packing for a beach spring break trip are some cute ass, pun intended, swimsuits. One piece suits are super in right now but tried and true bikinis are also a safe bet.

Another beach trip essential is a sweatshirt because, as any California or Florida kid will tell you, it totally gets cold at night. A Champion crew neck is my personal pick. The oversized fit is perfect for a “cold” night on the beach and for throwing on over your swimsuit.

Touring (Europe)

Another popular spring break trip, and possibly the hardest to pack for is touring. Maybe you’re going to visit your friends abroad, or maybe you’re going to visit New York City for the first time but no matter where the destination, you want to make sure your outfit is picture ready every day.

The best place to start is shoes. Getting a pair of sneakers that look good with every outfit and also are comfy and ready to keep up with your busy tourist schedule is essential. Converse and Adidas have some that exactly fit this bill.

Another staple of your wardrobe for this type of trip is a trendy, comfy dress that is easy to throw on under a jean jacket or sweater. Any dress from the casual dresses section on Urban Outfitter’s website are perfect. The key here is to make sure it’s a dress that you love enough and that is comfortable enough that you could wear it every day if all else fails.

Staycation

If you’re staying at home, the stakes aren’t as high, mostly because your entire wardrobe is at your disposal. But you might want to flex on your high school friends and the perfect thing for that is a pair of fun pants.

My current favorite is high-waisted gingham which you can easily find pretty much anywhere. They’re perfect to throw on with a plain top and head to dinner or lunch. Another staycation essential is a cozy teddy coat.

If your big spring break plan is to watch an entire show on Netflix, this is the best article of clothing to have. You can spend the whole day on the couch but then look cute when you leave the comfort of the indoors because you just had to get a burrito from Chipotle.
