This weekend, State Street will be flooded with Donald Trumps and Nicki Minajs for Freakfest X, the 10th anniversary of Madison’s massive Halloween block party. To avoid drunken tears of unpreparedness in your Left Shark costume, here’s what you need to know.

From its angry adolescent history, Freakfest finally grows into satisfying middle age

When is Freakfest X?

Freakfest will take place on Halloween, Oct. 31. Gates open at 7 p.m., and the last show goes on at 12:30 a.m. (The O’My’s). The event should wrap up by 1:30 a.m., so the end of daylight saving time will not affect attendees.

How much is it?

Tickets are $10 in advance, and are being sold until Friday evening at a variety of local establishments listed here.

Online sales have already ended.

Tickets are $15 the day-of and will be available starting at noon at the gate located on State and Lake Street. All other gates begin ticket sales at 7 p.m.

Re-entries are allowed with a hand stamp and ticket stub.

Those who live within the boundaries of the event have already received free Freakfest tickets.

How many people are slated to attend this year?

On years like this, when Freakfest takes place on the day of Halloween, attendance has traditionally been higher, Tag Evers, founder of True Endeavors said.

He said festival goers should thus expect between 30,000 and 40,000 attendees. But because two-thirds of ticket sales occur on the day-of, early estimates are difficult to make.

Up-and-coming MisterWives can’t wait to spend ‘insane holiday in insane city’
