Former UW football recruit pleads not guilty to sexual assault charges

Former UW football recruit pleads not guilty to sexual assault charges

A former University of Wisconsin football recruit waived his right to a preliminary hearing and pleaded not guilty to charges of felony sexual assault Monday, according to the Wisconsin State Journal.

According to the criminal complaint, Dominic Cizauskas, 18, allegedly raped a UW student in a campus dorm during an official campus recruiting visit Dec. 14, 2013.

The student and Cizauskas were acquaintances and had exchanged text messages throughout the night. The student said she had tried to dissuade Cizauskas from coming to her room.

The student said Cizauskas forced non-consensual intercourse, despite her objections and attempts to push him off her.

Cizauskas had committed to UW last summer but had not yet signed a letter of intent. His bond conditions bar him from campus and he is not allowed to consume alcohol or contact the victim.
