Located at the Alliant Energy Center, the five-day World Dairy Expo serves as a forum for those involved in the dairy industry to exchange ideas, knowledge and technology.
Hundreds of businesses had booths set up in the arena, as well as in the surrounding buildings and expo centers. In addition, dairy farmers from across the country brought in their cattle to compete in one of the many categories offered by the Expo.
Outside of the cattle competition, one of the biggest attractions of the entire event was the many food stands and carts, most notably being the grilled cheese stand — a fitting choice for the World Dairy Expo.
Walking around the Expo, I was surprised to see people of all ages, hear various different languages being spoken and witness many sharing their products, stories and ideas with each other.
Then again, with an event revolving around the world of dairy in the dairy capital of the U.S., what else should I have expected?
