Welcome to the Badger Herald live blog. I’m Brett Sommers, Statistics Editor
at the Herald, alongside Kelly Erickson, Sports Content Editor. We’ll be bringing
you play-by-play and analysis live from the Kohl Center for
tonight’s final men’s hockey home game of the season, against Denver.
The Badgers (12-5-2, 7-14-2 WCHA) dropped their fifth straight game last
night in a 3-0 shutout. It is Wisconsin’s longest losing streak of the season. The
Pioneers (18-9-4, 13-6-4 WCHA)continued
their strong play last night, winning their third consecutive game.
DU goaltender Sam Brittain put on a show Friday night, stopping 28
shots en route to his first shutout of the season. Brittain will get the nod
for the Pioneers once again while the Badgers are forced to swap netminders
after Joel Rumpel was forced off the ice after being cut by a teammate’s skate
in the third period.
Follow us all evening as the Badgers look to put a stop to its five-game losing
streak and steal a game from the 10th-ranked Pioneers.
