In Photos: Monroe Street Festival celebrates 40th anniversary

Saturday’s festivities included several blocks of food and music

The festivities on Monroe Street this past Saturday were lively as street goers enjoyed dollar slices of pizza from Pizza Brutta, baked goods from Bloom Bake Shop, kettle corn from Schultz’s Sugar River Kettle Corn and lively music among other things.

The street festival opened with Madison’s own FORWARD! Marching Band and hosted other musical acts such as Panchromatic Steel, David Landau and others.

Most businesses on Monroe Street from the 1700 block to the 1900 block had tents with various discounted goods. Strictly Discs attracted what seemed to be the most attention with their extensive sale of CDs and records at low prices.
