Reports of the sound of gunshots on the 100 block of North Broom Street early Sunday morning brought police to the scene.
Just before the gunshots, observers reported a fight involving 10-15 males, according to a Madison Police Department incident report. Approximately 10 people were spotted leaving the area after the shots were fired, according to the report.
Officers collected 10 handgun shell casings in the area, but there were no injuries reported, according to the report.
MPD is continuing to investigate the entirety of the incident, including the possibility of any relation to gang violence, MPD Sergeant Jen Kane, said.
