Residential Burglary: Tottenham Road
Madison Police said a man in his late 20s attempted to break into a woman’s house on Tottenham road Monday morning.
A Madison Police report said the woman who witnessed the suspect was responding to her door bell on Monday morning.
When she answered the door, there was a black male attempting to enter her home, the report said. He then fled at her presence.
The report said following this attempted burglary, there were three more additional police reports concerning residential break-ins near Tottenham road on the west side of Madison.
Gun-point Robbery: Flower Lane
A male drug dealer robbed two female clients at gun point who were looking to buy marijuana last Thursday night.
A police report said the two clients were both friends and on their way to a party.
Before their arrival, the women had planned to meet a man to buy marijuana, the report said. The dealer proved to be distrustful, and instead of making the deal he climbed into the back of their car and robbed the women at gunpoint.
Ald. Mike Verveer, District 4, said many crimes related to drugs traded on the black market happen as a result of the dealer getting robbed, and incidents such as the buyers being robbed are not as common.
Intoxicated Driver: Milwaukee Street
A 51-year-old drunken driver harassed a 20-year-old Madison local at a PDQ on Milwaukee Street. The police report said the victim had accidentally initiated the conflict with the drunken driver when he nearly hit his car prior to driving to the PDQ.
The angry suspect followed the victim on his way to the PDQ, the report said. At the gas station, the drunken man blocked the suspect’s access to the gas pumps with his car. In addition, when the two got out of the car, the suspect chased the victim around the station, dented his car and attempted to fight the Madison man.
After officials were called, the Madison local, who had previously been arrested and through several anger management classes, pleaded to be let off. He claimed he had a child and did not want to get arrested under any circumstances. The suspect was arrested for the listed charges.
Robbery: Memorial High School
Three 15-year-old Madison males robbed a fellow classmate in the Memorial High School’s men’s room.
Another MPD report said the three suspects ganged up against one other boy in the bathroom. One suspect put the victim in a headlock, while the other two beat him and stole his wallet. The boys’ splendor in their stolen profit was short-lived. They were quickly arrested and taken to the Juvenile Reception Center, the report said.
Battery: Midvale
A 42-year-old female suspect was arrested for theft and battery against a female loss prevention officer at Macy’s in Midvale. An MPD report said a Macy’s loss prevention officer was attacked by two women who were attempting to steal $150 in jeans.
The victim attempted to stop the thefts and arrest them for the appropriate causes. However, the suspects responded by tackling and punching the officer in the head and body multiple times. A Macy’s staff member eventually rescued the victim and retained one of the suspects.
The suspect already had a warrant out for her arrest, the report said. She identified the second suspect as her daughter.
Sexual Assault: Copps Food Center
A 25-year-old black male sexually assaulted a 52-year-old woman at the grocery store. An MPD report said the assaulted woman had earlier rammed her grocery cart into the suspect’s cart. The two exchanged apologies and the victim thought nothing of the man or the incident.
Later, while in the frozen foods aisle, the man groped the woman’s buttocks in a “nonchalant” fashion. The report said the woman was disturbed by the incident and received no apologies from the suspect after she bluntly confronted him in the store.
