University of Wisconsin police are investigating the theft of a laptop computer from a student Wednesday night.
A UW police incident report said a student reported that a man walked up to her table at the Lakefront on Langdon Cafe, grabbed her computer and fled immediately. The report said the man did not say anything to the victim.
According to police, witnesses said they had seen the suspect acting “suspicious” 20 minutes prior to the incident, perhaps looking for a target.
The report said the “bold nature” of the crime is concerning to police, even though no weapon was involved.
As pictured, the suspect is described as a black male wearing a green camouflage jacket and red hooded sweatshirt.
Police encourage anyone with information to contact authorities immediately.
