The Memorial Union Theater hosted a competitive youth poetry slam Friday to find the six teens who will represent Wisconsin in the 13th annual Brave New Voices International Youth Poetry Slam Festival.
Twenty-two outstanding high school students from across the state shared their talents, moving the audience and judges with powerful spoken word.
The show was hosted by Brooklyn native and spoken word artist Queen GodIs, whose inspirational performances gave support and motivation to the young competitors.
