A construction worker who fell from the construction site at the Edgewater Hotel has died, Madison Police said Monday.
As reported by the Daily Cardinal on Twitter, police confirmed a construction worker fell during construction work.
Madison Fire Department spokesperson Eric Dahl said officials responded to the call earlier this afternoon.
“We got the call at 2:03 this afternoon and we had people on the scene three minutes later,” he said.
Dahl said the caller reported a person had fallen on the lake side of the Edgewater building from a height of at least 20 feet.
According to a report from the Wisconsin State Journal, an investigator from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration arrived on the scene around 3:30 p.m.
Update: The Dane County Medical Examiner released the man who fell as Robert L. Lund, age 40, from Cambridge, Wis.
