Update 9:00 p.m.: The suspect has left the area and is no longer an immediate threat, according to WiscAlert. Madison Police Department will now take over the investigation.
Update 10:37 p.m.: The suspect entered Subway on University Avenue and demanded money from the register, according to a MPD incident report. He took the money and fled towards Johnson Street. The investigation is ongoing.
A man with a gun was seen fleeing toward Union South after a reported robbery Monday night.
He was seen near the intersection of University Avenue and Randall Avenue, according to a University of Wisconsin WiscAlert.
The suspect is a white male around 6 feet tall and was wearing a red hooded shirt, dark skinny jeans, a ski mask and a scarf.
Officers on scene are asking people to remain where they are and seek a safe location.
If at Union South, officers said to stay inside. There are multiple officers in the building to maintain security.
