On April 15, 2010, to officially kick off the 365-day countdown until the new Union opens its doors, students were invited to “Save the Date” on Bascom Hill from 1 to 3 p.m. The UW Marching Band, UW Spirit Squad, and Bucky Badger also joined the festivities.
Union staff and students handed out plastic replica hard hats, buttons, magnets and other items encouraging students to “Save the Date” April 15, 2011, which is when the new building opens next year.
