City seeks student input in alcohol issues

A subcommittee of the city’s Alcohol License and Review Committee investigating comprehensive alcohol issues is asking UW students to give their input Wednesday.

The ALRC subcommittee is investigating and discussing over-consumption and potential new policies for nightclubs and entertainment districts close to campus.

The meeting will be held at Memorial Union in the Lakefront Café at 5:30 p.m.

City Council members said they are aware student input has not been taken into consideration in the past about alcohol issues, and the subcommittee is looking for students to give thoughtful input before it develops proposals to introduce to the entire ALRC and the council.

Some recommendations should be ready by February, with council input by May.

Other citizens are invited to attend the meeting and give their input as well.
