The Wisconsin chapter of the Americans for Prosperity Foundation hosted a so called town hall meeting on health care last Wednesday, Aug. 26. Roughly the first 70 minutes of the 1.5 hour event consisted of various panelist speeches. John Stossel of ABC’s “20/20” then moderated while the panel fielded about a dozen questions from the 2,000 member audience. The relative lack of debate and majority conservative audience made for a political rally-like atmosphere.
Other speakers included Nancy Mistele, Vicki McKenna, Tim Nerenz (Executive Vice President of Oldenburg Group, Inc.), Former Rep. Scott Klug (R-Wis.), Steve Schwartzer (President of Heartland Benefits Group) and Pamela Galloway, M.D. (Founder of Breast Center of Central Wisconsin). Rep. Tammy Baldwin, D-Wis., was reportedly invited to the event but did not appear.
