The Wisconsin men’s hockey team returns both to the Kohl Center and WCHA play with a series against Minnesota State University.
The No. 3 Badgers skated to a late comeback win over Michigan last Saturday in the Camp Randall Hockey Classic. With the excitement of that open air 3-2 win out of the way, it’s back to business for UW.
Minnesota State is 1-5 in its last six games, the only win coming over WCHA basement dweller Michigan Tech. The Mavericks did split their series against the Badgers back in October, losing 6-0 and winning 3-2 in Mankato, Minn.
Getting these four points will be crucial for Wisconsin, who is in a tight race for the McNaughton Cup. Just four points separate the top five teams in the WCHA and St. Cloud State sits in a tie with Minnesota-Duluth for first place, with 29 points.
