A number of local artists came together to produce several striking snow sculptures this weekend, an act of midwinter merriment coordinated by the Madison Winter Festival.

An enormous strawberry, themes of embrace and the icy, puckered visage of presidential candidate Donald Trump emerged from hard-packed mounds of snow, adorning the very end of State Street alongside the Veteran’s Museum.

The sculptures disappeared under the cover of darkness on Sunday night, their fleeting existence to continue only in the memories of Madisonians who took part in the Winter Festival’s revelry.
