"When thou seest the buds are green, get ye now to the porches. Tap the keg, sound the bass and raise thine amber mead on high. 'Tis Mifflin!" — Book of Mifflin, 4:29-06
Consulting the text, we see it is time once again for the annual revelry known as the Mifflin Street Block Party. We hope everyone is ready.
Unlike last year, the date of this year's event is clear. We trust the spirit of Mifflin is, too: have fun, enjoy the weather and sample a beverage or two. Harming others or destroying property has no place between Capitol Foods and Bedford Street on Saturday.
Mifflin has grown into one of the city's signature events. Handed down over the decades, it stands as a campus tradition to be enjoyed for its simplicity. It's a time to see friends, a time to unwind before the anxiety of exams.
So drink early, drink often, drink responsibly this Mifflin Street Block Party. Brave the crowds, find that person from your stats class you haven't seen for over a year and embrace in the spirit of the moment. Avoid the beer bongs if you aren't cool with getting a case of the mumps.
We hope this year's party goes off without a hitch. If law enforcement is judicious in its use of discretion and revelers keep their debauchery civil, everything is going to be all right.
Be a good Badger. We'll see you on the street.
