As the adventures in
Paris are almost through and a return to New York is in the near future, the
drama for S and B steps up more than ever. Despite Blair’s harsh judgment of
her prince last week, he agrees to give her a second chance. As they are about
to go on a date, Lily calls and asks Serena to go to the Paris morgue to
identify a body that may or may not be that of Chuck Bass.
Obviously it
isn’t–what’s Gossip Girl without hearing that
wonderful, “I’m Chuck Bass”?–and when S goes to tell B what happened, B’s got
her own surprise. She spotted Chuck out of a taxicab window just earlier that
day, prompting Serena to tear up Paris in order to find her stepbrother. She
runs into his new boss (who happens to be his new lady Eva’s uncle) at the bar
where Chuck is working, and he points Serena in the right direction.
Serena finds Chuck
outside of his new apartment. He says that he is reinventing himself as a new
person, and is planning to never return to New York. Because he lost Blair, he
feels that he has no reason to be Chuck Bass any longer. At this news, Blair
couldn’t care less, because she has a ball to attend with Louis. When B’s
visiting Harry Winston to pick out a piece of jewelry for the night, she finds a
diamond ring that she learns was the ring Chuck was planning on giving her the
night she found about him and Jenny.
Serena tells Blair
that she’s the only one who can keep Chuck in New York. Meanwhile, Chuck is
about to leave Paris with Eva, when Blair (of course) finds him and stops him,
saying, “It wouldn’t be my world without you in it.” B ends things with her
handsome prince, and Chuck plans to return to New York–with beautiful Eva at
his side. She asks, “You bought me a ticket?” to which he replies, “We don’t
need tickets,” (drumroll please), “I’m Chuck Bass.”
Back in the States,
our Romeo Nate seems to be getting quite cozy with his Juliet, telling her the
entire history of his group of friends and families. She convinces him that he
needs serious help, so she offers to give him what he needs. Juliet believes
that Nate needs to win Serena over, and steal her from Dan. A little
manipulation here and there causes Dan to sleep with Vanessa, removing him from
Serena’s picture.
Serena comes home and
sees both of her potential men paired off already, and, not to mention, finds a
baby in Dan’s loft. Rufus discovers that Milo’s blood type does not work with
Dan’s, therefore is most likely not his son. (WHAT!?) At the end, we find
Juliet on the phone, discussing a scheme (and ending it with, “Hang in there. I
miss you.”), while removing all the photos from her stalker wall save for
Serena’s mug shot.
