For those looking to get their grooves on and dance the night away, the Majestic is one of the few bars in Madison to offer a two-story dance floor to strut your stuff.

The Majestic gives college students an opportunity to venture away from the stereotypical beer-chugging establishments and enter a classy, upbeat place filled with bumping music and ample cushioned seating.

The Majestic offers a variety of music ranging from house to hip-hop. It even offers classic ’70s, ’80s and ’90s and latest hits on Fridays that are mixed up by regional or local DJs. After dancing, I recommend a cool drink to refresh yourself. One of my personal favorites is the Sexual Trance, a mix of a variety of alcohols that goes down smooth. For $8, it is worth every penny because, after one of those drinks, you won't be so afraid to try your new "ride the pony" dance.

Although the Majestic might be pricier than a broke college student is used to, there are always specials that alleviate the costs and make it worth the trek to the Capitol. For instance, push yourself to the limits with Wednesday and Thursday all-you-can-drink nights for $10.

Also, if you go before 10 p.m. on weekends, there is no cover charge. Even if you find yourself at the door at 10:15 p.m., it is worth the $6 because the mix of people makes it an enjoyable experience.
