Meet Sarah Probst

As the daughter of a unionized mill worker and a teacher who has a framed photo of Russ Feingold sitting atop her desk, I seemed predisposed to become a tried and true Democrat from the moment I could step into the voting booth. While my tendencies admittedly lean toward the more “liberal” end of the spectrum (I support increased funding for education and believe civil liberties and the freedom of expression are of the utmost importance.), I don’t believe in confining my opinions to partisan ideologies. In fact, I feel partisanship only hinders progress, and a stagnant political environment is exactly opposite of what we need. Instead, I encourage political leaders to work for the best interests of their constituents — students, especially — rather than those lining their pockets. In my time on the Editorial Board, I know we too can formulate positions that consider the best interests of the students.
