All 24 University of Wisconsin students studying abroad in Quito, Ecuador, are confirmed safe after a 7.8-magnitude earthquake shook the country Saturday.

The earthquake rattled Ecuador’s central coast, causing at least 77 deaths and more than 570 injuries, according to the New York Times. The earthquake’s epicenter was located 105 miles from Quito.

“All UW-Madison students in Ecuador are accounted for and none were directly affected by the earthquake,” UW spokesperson Meredith McGlone said.
