A woman with mental health problems was arrested Sunday night for violently resisting a University of Wisconsin Police Department officer.
An altercation between the woman and another person escalated into a physical fight outside Gordon’s Dining and Event Center Sunday night, UWPD spokesperson Marc Lovicott said. A police officer tried to break up the fight but ended up having to call for backup, he said.
Lovicott said due to the woman’s mental health issues, the department is not issuing any citations and the case is complete.
