The Associated Students of Madison and Academic Affairs Committee will be holding their semi-annual book swap Friday, Aug. 28 through Sunday, Aug. 30.
According to Jonah Zenith, chair of the Academic Affairs Committee, students will buy books for 35 percent less than what the University Bookstore sells the same book for and the seller will make 30 percent more than if they were to sell the book back to the bookstore.
Friday is reserved for selling books to ASM, Saturday the sale will be held and Sunday students can pick up their books that did not sell and the money made from those that did.
“The goal is to make this into a cheaper textbook campaign and with the book swap hopefully students will get on board and build some momentum.” Zenith said.
This is the fourth semester ASM is doing the book swap. According to Zenith, in Spring 2009, 629 books were dropped off and 335 books were sold, saving students a total of $10,127.
