The University of Wisconsin has released a list of three names under consideration for the newly created position of vice chancellor for university relations, according to a statement released Wednesday afternoon.
The finalists are:
-Michael Brophy, vice president for corporate communications at the Milwaukee-based Midwest Airlines
-Mark Rosati, associate chancellor for public affairs at the University of Illinois-Chicago and at the U of I Medical Center
-Vince Sweeney, UW’s senior associate athletic director for external relations
Chancellor Biddy Martin announced the creation of the position last fall. She has said she wants the person in the job to build relationships between UW, the student body, alumni and the Legislature.
The finalists will “be coming back to campus to meet with the chancellor and a few other people” in the next few weeks, according to UW spokesperson Amy Toburen.
Following that visit, Toburen said UW will be able to estimate when a decision can be made.
