A Dane County circuit judge ruled March 23 that former University of Wisconsin running back Booker Stanley will stand trial on a variety of criminal charges, including felony second-degree sexual assault.
As reported by WISC-TV, the ruling came after Stanley's alleged victim testified in court that Stanley assaulted and battered her during an incident last December.
According to the criminal complaint, the alleged victim claimed Stanley sexually assaulted her and then strangled her on three separate occasions after the two argued over rent money and their relationship.
Altogether, Stanley faces a total of seven charges stemming from the December 2005 incident, including felony second-degree sexual assault, second-degree reckless endangerment and bail-jumping charges, as well as three counts of misdemeanor battery.
Stanley also faces misdemeanor battery and bail-jumping charges stemming from an altercation during the Mifflin Street Block Party last spring.
