University of Wisconsin football player Ernest Mason was arrested and charged Tuesday with Disorderly Conduct and Intimidating a Victim, both misdemeanor charges.
Intimidating a victim is defined in Wisconsin state law as “knowingly and maliciously” preventing, or attempting to prevent, someone who has been the victim of a crime or who is acting on behalf of the victim from reporting the crime to law enforcement.
Mason, 18, is a freshman at UW from Dunbar, Texas. This season for the Badgers, he caught one pass for 19 yards and averaged 15.3 yards per kickoff return.
At Dunbar High School, Mason had 40 receptions, 17 touchdowns, four interceptions and 1,744 all-purpose yards.
