To celebrate Women’s History Month, this month’s playlists will feature solely awesome, badass female artists.
Starting off the list is the empowered anthem aptly titled “Hot Slut” by up-and-coming-band Chastity Belt. With Kim Kardashian’s nude selfie-gate earlier this week, and its subsequent slut shaming, this song seems appropriate.
While full of newly discovered artists, the playlist also contains classics from the rock greats including Kate Bush, PJ Harvey, Hole, Patti Smith and the Go-Gos. This list even reaches as far back as the rockin’ ’50s with Big Mama Thornton, who made “Hound Dog” famous years before Elvis.
