Maybe it’s the delivery until 3 a.m. Maybe it’s the free menu with every order packed with more than 100 spectacular options for Chinese deliciousness, and maybe it’s the convenience of ordering online from the inescapable comfort of your roommate’s bowl chair.
For whatever reason, Madison students adore Asian Kitchen.
Inevitably, fortune cookie wrappers, soy sauce packets and sweet-and-sour sauce dribblings adorn many a dorm room and College Court apartment, which you can live on for at least a few days after the leftovers from Asian Kitchen’s disturbingly generous portions (Can this really all be chicken?) last week have congealed into their Styrofoam containers in the bowels of your refrigerator.
Rumor has it higher-ups in the University of Wisconsin administration were seen filling a dumpster with day-old leftovers from Asian Kitchen just last week, following a late-night splurge where they plotted ways to keep classes on schedule despite heavy snowfall.
Asian Kitchen soundly walloped the competition, with Silver Mine Subs taking a distant second place.
But students know what they like, and who can blame them for passing over soup and sandwiches for the glory of a warm, saucy and savory Asian Kitchen fix in the middle of cramming for that econ final?
