We read Ms. Pogoff’s letter [“UHS Is a UH-Mess,” March 4, 2009] with great interest. At University Health Services, we take the concerns of our patients and clients very seriously, and we consider student feedback a vital element in our ongoing quality-improvement process.
We encourage students who have complaints about any aspect of their care — whether medical, counseling, billing or any other matter — to report that by calling 265-5600, or by completing the Tell Us How We’re Doing feedback form, available both in hard copy at the fifth floor Information desk and online (forms.uhs.wisc.edu/tellus.php). They may remain anonymous, or they may request that someone contact them to address their concerns. Alternatively, they can write to or call Rob Sepich, the Student Relations Manager, or they can contact me directly.
As a medical and counseling facility, we are bound by law and by professional ethics to safeguard the confidentiality of our patients and clients, and so we prefer to communicate with them directly.
