A Madison Police Department officer was sent to the hospital after three men who got off of a party bus caused a large disturbance.
According to an MPD incident report, a man attacked the police officer after he and others got off a party bus while carrying plastic cups with alcohol. The incident occurred on the 600 block of University Avenue early Sunday morning.
MPD officers were working special downtown safety initiative hours at the time and let the men know they could not possess alcohol on the street.
One of the men tried to hide his cup and an officer told him he would get a citation. The other men became angry and caused a large disturbance, throwing an officer to the ground, causing an arm injury, which sent her to the hospital.
